Invitation to Bid - 3 BR / 2 Bath Bunglow in Heights

SE - PerspectiveFyook LLC invites you to submit a bid and estimate as a sub-contractor for the construction of a new single-family 3 BR / 2 Bath home. The bid is open to all qualified trades at this point. This house will be located in Houston’s historic Heights neighborhood (North Norhill Subdivision). We are excited about this project as it provides the rare opportunity to build a new home that fits well in a neighborhood full of 80+ year old historic homes. The Houston Archeological and Historical Commission has reviewed and enthusiastically approved these plans. We at Fyook LLC have high expectations for this house, and so does the HAHC. We have taken much care in the architectural phase of this project and in the specifications of construction. You are invited to review the attached plans and to submit a bid. We will be breaking ground in mid-late June 2009, and with the right bid, you can be a part of bringing this vision into a reality!

If you are interested and qualified, to obtain a copy of the plans please contact Andrew at Fyook LLC (contact info below, or click the Call Me button).

Things that you will need to include in your bid:

  1. Two (2) References for jobs you have worked on previously
  2. Dates available to work (needed for scheduling purposes)
  3. Contact information (e-mail, fax, phone, mailing address)
  4. Items that, in your opinion, need further specifications before work begins
  5. Your proposed pay schedule.
  6. Anything else that qualifies you for this project!

Other things to Note:

  1. When you get the plans, do not copy the plans or distribute them to other people or assigns. They belong to the owner only. Be prepared to return them to Fyook LLC when you submit your bid (or even if you don’t complete the bid).
  2. Insurance: all sub-contractors that do work on this job will need their own insurance, both for General Liability and Worker’s Compensation. You may submit a waiver for WC (form DWC-83).
  3. There will be a written contract for doing work. Nothing unusual will be in the contract; if you’d like a sample of something that the contract will look like, see AIA Contract A401 “Standard form of Agreement between Contractor and Subcontractor.” This includes, for example: provisions for payment, basic job rules (cleanliness, safety, work hours), insurance, and definition of the work.
  4. Fyook LLC will pay you for work done and materials installed, after you have signed a partial and/or full lien waiver and release and an all-bills-paid affidavit.

We hope the information here helps you accurately bid this project. Should you need further clarification, please contact us. We are looking forward to receiving your competitive bids!

Sincerely,

Andrew Fuqua, President
